Verantwortlich daf\u00fcr sind zwei rivalisierende Sch\u00fclerbands, die Smashers und die Fresh Familee. Die Smashers werden von einem brutalen Rabauken, Tommy, angef\u00fchrt, der freies Spiel hat, da sein Vater ein M\u00e4zen der Gesamtschule ist. Mambo und der neue Deutschlehrer Pillgrim, der mit den Sch\u00fclern \u201eRomeo und Julia\u201c einstudieren will, sind nicht bereit, diese Strukturen hinzunehmen. Mambo schlie\u00dft sich nach einiger Zeit dem sympathischen Anf\u00fchrer der Fresh Familee, Latif an. Als Mambo sich in die Ex-Freundin Tommys, Nadja, verliebt, wird er von Tommy und seiner Gang erbarmungslos bek\u00e4mpft. Doch Mambo und Nadia, die seine Gef\u00fchle erwidert, bleiben unbeeindruckt. Bei einem entscheidenden Kampf dt\u00fcrzt Tommy ohne Mambos Schuld und verletzt sich t\u00f6dlich. Mambo wird angeklagt.
